500 Days of Summer (2009)
Short description
500 Days of Summer is a 2009 romantic comedy-drama film directed by Marc Webb and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. It follows the story of Tom Hansen, a young man who falls in love with his colleague Summer Finn, only to find out that she doesn't believe in true love.
The movie is an absolute delight to watch. It's funny, charming, and heartbreaking all at the same time. The performances from both Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel are outstanding. They have great chemistry together and their characters are so well written that you can't help but root for them to get together. The soundtrack is also great, featuring indie bands like The Smiths and Regina Spektor.
The movie does a great job of exploring the complexities of relationships and how they can be both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. It's not afraid to show the darker side of relationships as well as the joys that come with them. The film also does a great job of showing how people can change over time, as Tom's character goes through a transformation throughout the course of the movie.
The cinematography is also stunning, with some gorgeous shots of Los Angeles that really capture the city's beauty. The editing is also top notch, with some clever transitions between scenes that really help move the story along.
Overall, 500 Days of Summer is an excellent movie that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic comedy-drama with plenty of heart and soul. It's funny, touching, and thought provoking all at once - definitely worth watching!
